One Challenge asked workers around the world take time in the month of November to thank the Lord for things in their lives, whether it was work, family, partners, new opportunities, or reconnections. OC workers expressed a multitude of gratitude to the Lord for the blessings he bestowed this year. Here are a few expressions of that thanks:

Thanks from OC workers“I am thankful for our national co-workers confidence in God to take increasing responsibility in leadership.” – JN, worker in Guatemala, leadership development ministries

“This year I’m thankful for a God who is always with me – no matter the location or the feeling. It can be challenging to find myself in a new country, but I have seen the Lord show up in amazing and surprising ways this year.” – SR, worker in Romania, young adult ministries

“We are thankful that we are both challenged and growing in our work and ministry.” – KC, Global Ministries

“I’m thankful for kids who are eager to learn and filled with curiosity. They make my job of teaching a daily joy! I’m thankful for rich community and good friends who help me to love Jesus better.” – AO, teacher at Faith Academy, Philippines

“I’m grateful for a great community of believers who embraced us, cared for us and encouraged us when we arrived in our city five years ago. They sheltered us with home, friendship, care and service together. I am grateful for family, for growing together in the last five years of ministry! We learned to stick together when we struggled in our loneliness and when we rejoiced together. Life on the field sometimes can be tricky … but it will always be a place to grow, to understand The Shepherd better and to learn to listen to His voice.” – JBO, South Africa, leadership development

“This November we celebrate 20 years of ministry with OC. We thank the Lord for the privilege of being part of the One Challenge family.” – R & J, OC pastoral couple

“We are most thankful for the love of God. Nothing fazes us “because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” (Romans 8,36 The Message) – LM, worker in U.S. & Germany, networking and partnering ministries

give thanks“We’re thankful to share Thanksgiving meal with family this year, for the first time in five years. We give thanks to the Lord for good health, new friends and church family.” – J & S, member care couple

“We are grateful that we can love and serve God by loving and serving one another.” – LK & SK, workers in the U.K., Global Research Team

“We continue to be amazed and thankful for new and continuing relationships with God’s people who are looking at getting involved in global kingdom growth, even though the money needed to carry out Mobilization as we have in the past has been limited. We look forward with expectation for God’s provision of more quality people, with or without funding!” – JB, director of mobilization

“We are thankful for the awesome sense of God’s immediate help and presence when facilitating kingdom efforts that are far beyond our depths or experience, and finding His promises that give comfort and strength and speak directly to our challenges, struggles, and temptations.” – Worker in Southeast Asia, networking and partnering ministries

“We are thankful for the many amazing ministry opportunities the Lord gives us, the great privilege of being used by the Lord this past year to bear great fruit, those who faithfully stand behind us in prayer, and the great joy of having a part in making disciples of all nations.” – DW, worker in the Philippines, training church planters
